York Literature Festival, one of the jewels in York’s cultural crown, has received a tremendous uplift to its finances with the news that its headline sponsor, Baillie Gifford, is renewing its support for 2017 at an increased level.
Baillie Gifford, the Edinburgh-based investment trust management company, sponsors some of the most renowned literary festivals in the country and only last year added York to its list.
“That was a great coup for us,” said Festival Director Rob O’Connor, “and showed how important York has become. To have them back again in 2017 is a terrific endorsement of the work we’ve put in and the standards we’ve achieved. Together with the continued funding from York St John University, this will ensure the festival gets off to the best possible start.”
York Literature Festival runs from 16th to 30th March. More information can be found on their website at www.yorkliteraturefestival.co.uk.
